Entering our eighth season, ECCB stands at a pivotal moment of growth. Having weathered the pandemic with creative virtual work, expanded our repertoire with a diverse body of over forty original works, and built a steadily growing audience across Connecticut and New York, ECCB has emerged resilient and inspired. Last Fall, for example, we premiered two new pieces that delved introspectively into the human condition to sold-out audiences in New York City, Darien and Westport and this summer we worked in collaboration with Italian sculptor Luca Serasini to choreograph a new ballet that will be toured to Italy. The demand for accessible arts in our communities has never been greater. Families and seniors, longtime dance enthusiasts and first-time audience members all are seeking uplifting, communal experiences after years of isolation and uncertainty. Now more than ever, our region needs the empathy, reflection, and bold exploration that shared artistic experiences can inspireand ECCB is helping meet that need.

This is a moment of opportunity. By supporting ECCB now, you can help enrich our community’s cultural life when it is most needed. Your partnership will fuel the creation of new contemporary ballets, deepen ECCB’s community engagement, guarantee the continuation of free public performances, broaden our collaborative efforts and nurture the next generation of artists. Together, we can ensure that our innovative company not only survives but truly thrives as a cultural cornerstone in Connecticut and beyond.

OUR IMPACT MADE POSSIBLE BY YOUR SUPPORT:

  • Artistic Excellence & Innovation.  Employing over thirty artists, including dancers, choreographers, musicians, lighting designers, costume designers, stage crew, photographers and videographers, ECCB has premiered dozens of original works and collaborates with award-winning musicians and regional arts organizations. Our entirely original repertoire—rare in ballet—includes full-length productions, interdisciplinary performances, and new commissions that push creative boundaries. Collaborations this past season have included: Museum of Contemporary Art CT, Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, Darien Arts Center, HMTX Headquarters, Fairfield Museum & History Center, The HIVE by Beechwood, renowned choreographer Kathryn Posin, NYC musician Nathan Haselby, Newport Contemporary Ballet, other local dance companies.

  • Community Engagement.  Accessibility defines who we are. In 2021, we co-founded the free open-air Fairfield County Dance Festival, bringing high-quality dance to public parks and green spaces across Connecticut. In 2025 alone, we performed seven free outdoor shows in seven communities, reaching hundreds of families, seniors, and first-time dance-goers.

  • Educational Outreach.  ECCB’s dancers regularly teach and mentor students, offer open rehearsals, and lead workshops at schools and libraries. These informal, interactive sessions help demystify ballet and inspire young artists. Small moments—like a student meeting a dancer or participating in a mini-lesson—leave a lasting cultural imprint. With your support everything is possible, and for this we THANK YOU.

Despite our success and momentum, ECCB remains a lean non-profit organization that relies on community support. Unlike large established ballet companies, we do not have a hefty endowment or government subsidy – we have gotten this far thanks to passionate donors, ticket buyers, and local partners. To continue and expand our work, we need your help. With your support everything is possible, and for this we THANK YOU.

When you contribute to East Coast Contemporary Ballet, you are doing more than funding a single performance or season – you are building a legacy of culture, creativity, and community that will resonate for years to come. As a young company, each step forward we take has outsized significance. Donor support in these seminal years can shape the trajectory of ECCB and, by extension, the artistic landscape of our region.
